  • New BMW 420D Dual Exhaust Conversion

EUK-1Cobra Sport has now included the BMW 420D Coupe to their ever popular range of dual conversions. For those who seek to achieve a more aggressive and sporty look to the rear end of their 420D without upgrading to the 435, Cobra Sport now offer a rear box section which makes a bold statement on the model. Matt Thomas, Cobra Sport’s Sales Manager says “I’m seeing a growing trend of people wanting to achieve the look of the more discernible 435’s dual exit exhaust on their more economical diesel model, and our range of cosmetic upgrades allows them to achieve this”. Available separately to complement the system is a rear bumper panel in which the dual exhaust neatly sits you would never know that the upgrade had been made as it looks entirely at home on the 420D features and body line. This cosmetic upgrade is available as a rear box conversion and can be purchased with an original equipment BMW dual exhaust exit rear panel to complete the transformation.

  • British Touring Car Update from Croft

AMD Focus 4 copyThe reigning Clio Cup champion had qualified 21st on the grid at the wheel of his Ford Focus, but his hopes of making progress in the opening race were hit at the end of lap one when he turned into the hairpin and was greeted by searing pain through his right shoulder; a legacy of the high-speed accident he suffered at Thruxton earlier in the year.
Despite trying to battle on, Mike was ultimately forced into the pits to retire before seeking medical attention in the hope of taking part in race two. With his shoulder strapped up, Mike was able to take his place on the grid and an impressive performance saw him come from the back of the field through to 19th – leaving him well placed to push for points in the final race of the weekend.
Unfortunately, an issue with the engine on the Focus was discovered when the car returned to the paddock and with the team unable to resolve the problem at the circuit, Mike was left with no option but to watch on from the sidelines with his aim being to return to form when the season resumes at Snetterton in August.

  • BTCC Update - Mighty Mike is Back...

mike bushell_F2R8804 copyRound three at Thruxton last month ended in disaster for the West Thurrock-based team after a huge accident in qualifying caused extensive damage to the car, with driver Mike Bushell lucky to escape with nothing more than severe ligament damage.
Tunbridge Wells racer Mike has been cleared to return to action by medics, the reigning Clio Cup champion will now seek to reignite his campaign after two tough weekends on track even though a grid penalty - which will see him drop to the back of the field for race one - leaves him somewhat on the back foot going into the race weekend.
Mike states "I don’t think I’ve had chance to display what I’m capable of in the BTCC yet this year, and I want show why I won the Clio title last year. I’m not going into the weekend to just make up the numbers despite my penalty, as I feel we’ll have a quick car that will allow me to set a good lap time in race one - which will then decide my starting slot for race two. If we can get into the top 15 on the grid, then we can aim for more in race three.
"This is a big weekend for me and I have to thank the team for the hard work they’ve put in to fix the car, and of course the fans who have supported me. It’s one thing for people to say they will back you when something happens like the accident at Thruxton, but I didn’t expect so many to then actually do it.
“It was amazing to see the support there is, and it’s no joke to say that without that backing, I wouldn’t be on track this weekend.”
