Cobra Sport attended the first major event on the car and motorsport show calendar, with a large stand in the Performance & Tuning Car Show section of the prestigious Autosport International 2020 show at the NEC in Birmingham. The show itself covers over 1 million sq ft and attracts over 80,000 visitors each year making it the number one show for motorsport in the UK.

The stand, located in Hall 4, showcased one of the Cobra Sport AmD Racing Honda Civic FK2 British Touring Cars having been completely rebuilt after the success of winning the 2019 Independent Teams and Driver Championships. The car proved extremely popular with visitors, many of whom captured pictures to share on social media. Recently announced drivers Jake Hill and Sam Osborne spent a lot of time on the Cobra Sport stand amongst our staff, socialising with traders, sponsors and visitors alike.

The pair of Honda Civics are set to compete in the 2020 BTCC campaign, with Hill and Osborne at the wheel looking to defend the Independent Teams Championship. Hill's confidence in his car and his team was evident when he said "I have worked alongside the team previously and I have seen first-hand how competitive the FK2 can be: it is the most successful front-wheel-drive car in NGTC history in terms of race wins.”

The Autosport show also gave us a chance to exhibit some of the newest products in our vast performance exhaust range, amongst which was our new remote valved F56 Mini cat back exhaust and latest application of the our popular M4 inspired quad exit exhaust conversion for the 4-series diesel BMWs. Also on display were a selection of our best sellers including a Ford Focus RS Resonated ‘Venom’ exhaust and a unique 4-1 UEL De-Cat Manifold for the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ. The products on display demonstrated the superior quality of our TIG welding manufacturing techniques and inspired many visitors to place enquiries for our direct fit performance exhaust products and learn more about our worldwide network of distributors and tuning partners.

As ever, the two trade days proved to be invaluable for us, catching up with existing contacts and adding to our network of dealers. The show generated an ever-increasing interest in the Cobra Sport brand and allowed us to discuss in person the direction in which we are moving as a company. The public event on the Saturday and Sunday was hugely popular with the stand being incredibly busy all weekend. We would like to extent a huge thank you to everybody who came to visit our stand over the 4 days of the show and we look forward to seeing you again at many shows to come this year including JapFest, TRAX, Ford Fair and more.

  • TRAX 2019 at Silverstone

TRAX Logo 2016This weekend we headed to Silverstone for the much anticipated TRAX show. The traditional end-of-season finale, it brings together car enthusiasts from all over the UK, so it was the ideal place to unveil our latest valved systems for the Audi S3 (8V) and MINI Gen3 (F56).

As soon as the gates opened, the crowds flocked into the event, with many making a beeline for the trade village. We’d secured a prime spot to showcase our products and chat to people about the best options for their particular vehicles.

Cobra Sport TRAX 2019 SilverstoneAlthough the weather looked like it might spoil the fun, the rain stayed away and there were lots of happy faces. This event just seems to get bigger and better each year

One car that drew a lot of attention was our BTCC Honda Civic, which had been kindly delivered fresh from the workshop by our partners at AmD Tuning. The car was fully race prepped and ready to take to the track at Brands Hatch next weekend for the British Touring Car Championship season finale. It’s always good to be able to get up close to a genuine race car from the top tier of British Motorsport – especially one of the front runners like this!

Our Touring Car was flanked by a stunning Audi S3 and a Fiesta ST Mk8 – both fitted with our latest performance exhaust systems. The great thing about a live event is that we can demonstrate just how good our systems sound, and with two willing owners on hand, lots of people got to hear them in action.

Audi S3 Valved Exhaust by Cobra SportThe S3 valved system received many positive comments, as it not only transforms the sound of the 2.0 TFSI, but fully integrates with the Audi Drive modes. And the Mk8 Fiesta ST GPF-Back exhaust system really does add character to the 1.5 EcoBoost engine, finished in style with our brand new Carbon Fibre tailpipe option.

One of the highlights of the afternoon, was when our friends at AET Motorsport joined us with their BMW M4 (F82). Currently sporting a Cobra Sport primary cat back exhaust system, the aggressive, sporty note quickly drew a crowd, eager to hear this 500+bhp M4 collaboration. The car will be back at Cobra Sport HQ shortly to finalise the primary de-cat down pipe development.

Thanks to everyone that came over to speak with us and for the many enquiries that were made; it was great to meet so many customers old and new. It’s been a very busy show season for us, so as things calm down, we’re looking forward to focusing on some exciting new developments.

  • Ford Fair 2019 at Silverstone

Ford Fair LogoOur biggest show of the year took place last weekend at the expansive Silverstone Racing Circuit. Ford Fair attracts cars from all over Europe, with 4,000 cars and 18,000 guests attending flooding the flood Silverstone Circuit.

On the stand we had a trio of demo cars all fitted with Cobra Sport Performance Exhausts. The public were able to hear the exhaust in action during the 3 sound demonstration periods.

On the stand we had a stunning orange Ford Focus ST250 fitted with a popular configuration of a non resonated cat back exhaust matched with de-cat front pipe giving a truly stunning sound upgrade and an enviable increase in power and throttle response.

A Mk7 Ford Fiesta ST sat proudly in the centre of the stand fitted with a Cobra Sport Venom exhaust and de-cat. The car had just returned from one of our distributors AET Motorsport who had applied a re-map which in conjunction with the exhaust produced a thrilling sound with plenty of after run effects.

To finish off the display we had a stunning nitrous blue Ford Focus RS Mk3 again fitted with a valved venom cat back exhaust and de-cat down pipe. The venom exhaust for the Focus RS is turning into one of our most popular upgrades, offering a sound unrivalled for the RS.

  • TRAX 2019 at Donington Park

TRAX Logo 2016The second event of the July show weekend at Donington saw the first TRAX show of the year, held on the large and newly re-surfaced paddock area.

Having announced a new technical partnership with the XtremeRX British Rallycross team earlier this year, we were pleased to be able to put the Citroen C2 Super 1600 class car pride of place in the centre of our stand at the show. The Rallycross car took part in the sound demonstrations showing off the aggressive and raw sound of the fully custom built TIG welded motorsport exhaust system normally only heard the rounds of the British Rallycross Championship.

Alongside the Rallycross car we had a duo of demo cars. The first being a VW Golf GTi Mk7 fitted with our incredibly popular Cat Back Performance Exhaust upgrade finished with stylish Ceramic Coated 'Blackout' exhaust tailpipes.

Our recently launched Cat Back Exhaust for the Mini Cooper S F56 was also on display on the stand taking part in the sound demonstrations before hitting the main Donington Park circuit to put the fully TIG welded exhaust through further track testing.

The show weekend at Donington was a great success with a amazing range of vehicles on display on the extensive club stand and trade area. We now look forward to the Ford Fair show in August and to finish the show season, the main TRAX show at the Silverstone in October.

  • Japfest 2019 at Donington Park

Japfest 2016 LogoWe added an extra weekend to our show calendar for 2019 attending the Japfest and TRAX shows at the expanding Donington Park racing circuit in Leicestershire. Housed on the newly resurfaced main paddock area, the venue was the perfect venue for the second Japfest show of the year with a mix of club stands, trade and on circuit action.

Located in the busy trade area of the show, we were proud to show off 3 of our current best selling performance exhaust systems for the Japanese market.

Central to the display was our ever popular cat back exhaust for the Nissan 370Z Nismo edition fitted with specially made Carbon Fibre tailpipes. The amazing sound of the Cobra Sport exhaust matched with the 3.7L V6 really drew the crowds during the sound demonstrations.

Also receiving a great deal of attention on the stand was a Toyota GT86 fitted with a non resonated Cobra Sport cat back exhaust system. A popular initial upgrade for GT86 owners, the cat back exhaust offers a big improvement in sound offering a much deeper pitch perfect exhaust tone. Once the cat back is fitted, many owners look to take the sound and performance improvements further with our unequal length manifold and sports catalyst options.

To complete the trio of demo cars we displayed the long term favourite and uniquely vinyl wrapped Honda Civic Type R fitted with non resonated cat back exhaust.
