  • VAG Tuner Live 2018 at Donington Park

    VAGTunerLive_LogoCobra Sport attended the popular VAG Tuner Live Car Show at Donington Park on the 8th of July.  VAG Tuner Live has built a reputation as the UK's top performance event for VAG vehicles, displaying over 1000 high performance cars filling out every corner of the Donington paddock making it a fantastic day out for anyone to enjoy.

    On the Cobra Sport stand were a trio of high performance Audi & VW vehicles all fitted with Cobra Exhausts. We had a beautiful VW Golf R MK7 fitted with our non resonated cat back performance exhaust alongside a unique R400 bodykit. Also on the stand we had a stunning grey VW Golf GTi MK7  fitted with our hugely popular non resonated cat back exhaust and finished with smart Ceramic Black tailpipes. Lastly the eye catching white Audi S3 on the stand turned some heads, especially with the de-cat turbo back Cobra Sport making a fierce noise during the sound demonstrations.

    Alongside the cars on the stand we proudly displayed one of the two current mathcing AmD with Cobra Exhausts Audi S3 BTCC cars in our pit garage area. The Audi competes in the British Touring Car Championship at the highest level of UK motorsport and was by far the fastest car on track. Racing driver Ollie Jackson provided thrilling BTCC passenger rides to our competition winners and VIP's in an experience unrivalled at the show. The VAG Tuner show is unique with open pit track sessions throughout the day allowing visitors to the show to take a close look at the motorsport engineering close up in the pits but also see the BTCC car in action on the undulating Donington Park national circuit.

  • Japfest 2018 at Silverstone

    Japfest 2016 LogoCobra Sport attended their third show of the 2018 season over a very sunny bank holiday weekend at Silverstone for europe’s largest Japanese tuning show. Japfest takes over the whole of the Northamptonshire venue and again proved to be the perfect venue for the show with space to host the many car clubs and tuning companies in attendance. The show features a display of over 3500 Japanese cars from the many car clubs from across the UK and Europe along with competitive drifting and high speed track action.

    Providing a pitch perfect soundtrack to the trade area of the show were four display vehicles all fitted with Cobra Sport exhausts offering visitors to the show a chance to hear the systems in real life.

    The stunning sound of the Cobra Exhaust for the Nissan 370Z continues to please, drawing the crowds to the stand during the exhaust sound demonstrations, the car on the stand was fitted with a full Cat Back exhaust which consists of the Y-Section, Centre & Rear Sections.

    Also receiving a great deal of attention on the stand was the Toyota GT86 fitted with the full Cobra Sport exhaust system which when fitted produces an unrivalled exhaust sound and performance upgrade. The full system includes de-cat manifold, sports cat, over pipe & non resonated cat back exhaust.

    Having previously displayed the 2.0 litre MX-5 ND at the 2017 Japfest show with dual exit exhaust, this year the 1.5 Litre MX-5 ND took a spot on the stand fitted with the popular MZ15 Resonated Cat Back Exhaust.

    To complete the collection of show cars we had the Mk3 MX-5 on display fitted with our ever popular race type rear box exhaust finished with a set of 'Blackout' ceramic coated Black Tailpipes.

  • Get up to Speed with STEM - Engineering Careers - Magna 2018

    Get up to Speed @ MagnaGet up to Speed with Engineering and Manufacturing (GUTS), is the premier event in northern England aimed at inspiring the upcoming generation of young engineers and manufacturers who will go on to be vital in the future of innovation and commercial success in Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing.



    Cobra Sport MD Rachel Abbott joined the discussion panel to debate the state of manufacturing and future skills at the Get up to Speed event alongside Julie Kenny CBE, DL and David Richards CBE.

    It was great to meet the future generation of engineers at the event along with representatives from many of our local suppliers and business contacts.

    On the Cobra Sport stand we had a number of performance exhausts on display showcasing the craftsmanship & attention to detail which go into making a Cobra Exhaust. Alongside the finished exhaust products were a series of videos providing an insight into our advanced manufacturing to prospective engineers and apprentices.

    We were also proud to have Sam Smelt's current AmD with Cobra Exhausts BTCC car on display at Magna which proved to be the main attraction of the automotive display. The car was fresh from the open rounds of the 2018 British Touring Car season at Brands Hatch the previous weekend where Ollie Jackson picked up a best over podium finish in race 2 in the sister Audi S3.

  • Cobra Sport Star in Car S.O.S Episode on National Geographic

    Cobra Sport featured extensively in episode 2 of series 6 of the popular TV show Car S.O.S aired on National Geographic.

    The Sheffield based performance exhaust manufacturer featured on an episode covering the restoration of a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 2 which was completely restored to its former glory by the Car S.O.S team and supporting suppliers.

    Tim Shaw - Car SOS film at Cobra Sport ExhaustsThe episode featured a behind the scenes look at many of the manufacturing processes which go into creating a Cobra Sport exhaust. Filming took place over a full day capturing many scenes and a choice of story narrative much of which didn't make the final cut.

    The new performance exhaust for the Lancia was custom built directly to the donor vehicle at our Sheffield based workshop. This final exhaust design was based around 2.5" stainless steel pipework and included a rear box and central resonated section.

    The car reveal in the episode took place at a special event held at Whitmore hall in Staffordshire where a request had been put out to the Lancia Delta owners clubs for as many cars as possible to attend the event.

  • TRAX Show 2017 - Silverstone

    TRAX Logo 2016The TRAX show at Silverstone brings to a close a very busy 2017 show season for our events team who will now begin planning for an even bigger 2018. The TRAX event filled the British Grand Prix venue with turnout at record levels for the Fast Car entertainment event.

    The Cobra Sport stand occupied a large prominent space in the packed retail area where we had 4 display vehicles fitted with Cobra Sport exhaust systems. The Cobra Sport events trailer was the busiest it had been at all of the shows we have attended this summer and the amount of enthusiasm from the public was infectious. It's always great to get the chance to speak to our customers face to face to discuss our current range of direct fit exhaust systems along with the exciting developments we have planned for 2018.

    On the stand this year we had a stunning black Toyota GT86 fitted with the full Cobra Sport exhaust system including the recently released GT86 4-1 de-cat manifold. Alongside the GT86 we had an equally stunning Honda Civic Type R (FK2) with sports cat and non resonated cat back creating a stunning sound track to the trade area of the show. Completing the stand we had a pair of Ford Fiesta ST 180's fitted with turbo back exhaust systems with differing configurations providing a comparison between our popular Fiesta ST exhaust systems.

    Our clothing range again proved popular with our luxury hoodies becoming the sought after item in preparation for the imminent cooler autumn weather conditions.

  • Mini in the Park 2017 - Santa Pod Raceway

    MITP LogoThe Cobra Sport events team headed down to the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire last weekend for the Mini in the Park show which is one of the UK's largest Mini shows. The event featured a whole range of Mini action on the drag strip along with thousands of the UK's best Minis from all generations on display.

    On the Cobra Sport stand were a number of display exhaust from our Mini performance exhaust range along with a pair of Mk2 Minis, both being the Cooper S (R56) model fitted with different Cobra Sport exhaust configurations to demonstrate the upgrades and differences in sound levels and tone. One R56 had a non resonated cat back exhaust system and the second was running a full exhaust systems including a de-cat and resonated cat back exhaust.

    The Mini show also saw the launch of a new range of tailpipes for the Mini in the form of 3.5" (88.9mm) inverted stainless steel slash cut tailpipe (TP83) giving a more aggressive looks to the rear of the vehicle.

    The Cobra Sport stand proved to be a popular addition to the Mini in the Park show and was busy throughout the day with show attendees taking the time to listen to and view up close the expert manufacturing which goes into the creation of all Cobra Sport exhausts.

    The next show on the events calendar is the TRAX event which is to be held at Silverstone on Sunday 1st October.
