Eibach UK brought their latest project car to Cobra Sport HQ looking to take advantage of our years of experience in the exhaust industry.

As part of Eibach's overall research and testing program for the Audi A6 3.0 TDI, our aim was to develop an exhaust system which would complement the styling of the A6 Quattro along with allowing the engine to breathe more freely and improve the overall tone produced by the 3.0 TDI engine.

Keen to take advantage of our exhaust manufacturing expertise and superior manufacturing techniques, Eibach brought the car up to Cobra Sport HQ in Sheffield shortly after the new HRE wheels were fitted and before their final round of performance and handling test carried out at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground.

Taking inspiration from our extensive VAG exhaust range which features a number of direct fit system for Audi vehicles, the fully custom TIG welded system Cobra Sport exhaust system was designed to fit from the DPF back moving the 'Y' pipe from the middle of the car much further back.

This move maximised flow within the single but larger bore T304 stainless steel pipework. The system then split neatly to follow the path of the original exhaust system to form the dual exit.

The styling of the exhaust system was completed with a set of Cobra Sport engraved 4" (101.6mm) highly polished stainless steel tailpipes.
