The January 2020 edition of MEM (Manufacturing and Engineering Magazine) featured a write-up of the Cobra Sport brand amongst other businesses that have been awarded the coveted 'Made in Sheffield' mark.
It also covered some of the manufacturing techniques that we use including TIG-welding and CNC mandrel tube bending.
"Cobra Sport Exhausts was set up by brother and sister Pete Jarvis and Rachel Abbott in 2004 to continue the long family history in the trade. Over the past 15 years, the duo have driven the business forward to become one of the UK's leading performance exhaust manufacturers. With a global network of dealers, high-profile motorsport sponsorships, the team's recent success in the British Touring Car Championship and a focus on new product development, the Cobra Sport brand has never been so strong.
"When it comes to the manufacturing process, all performance exhaust systems are not the same. Aside from the differences in design and the type of materials used, one of the biggest factors that affects the quality of a performance exhaust is the welding. This is one area in which Cobra Sport is ahead of the game. Whereas many of our competitors use MIG-welding, our highly skilled technicians utilise superior TIG-welding techniques."
It also has an article covering the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire (Sheffield), of which our Managing Director, Rachel Abbott, is the Chairman of the Freeman's Committee.

]]>This Summer, Performance Vauxhall have released their 'Collector's Edition' VXR The Ultimate Guide.
This special release magazine features some of the nation's most outrageous, powerful and rarest modified Vauxhall's packed into just under 100 pages.
Cobra Sport's first mention in the magazine comes in the form of a product feature of our acclaimed 'Venom' cat back system for the Corsa E VXR in the 'Recommended Products: VXR Essentials' section.
The magazine noted the 'beautiful design' of the system, created through TIG-welding, and how it improves both gasflow and the sound of the Corsa's raucous 1.6 turbo-charged engine.
"Celebrated performance exhaust manufacturer, Cobra Sport, has expanded its range of free-flowing stainless systems to include a powerful Venom kit for the Corsa E VXR. Replacing the OEM system with 3 inch mandrel-bent T304 pipework split into dual 2.5 inch arms at the rear, the company has utilised superior TIG-welding techniques at its Sheffield base to produce a beautifully-designed product improving gasflow and sound at the same time as releasing trapped ponies.
As with other Corsa E exhausts in the Cobra Sport portfolio, this awesome Venom system is finished with a pair of 4 inch tailpipes and the option of black ceramic coating to complement the Corsa's standard diffuser. An additional eleven decibels provides a fantastic soundtrack to fast-road fun."
The second mention of Cobra Sport in the tuning magazine is in an article focused on an insane Grasshopper Green Corsa D VXR Nurburgring Edition owned by Doug Booth.
The unhinged 411bhp monster features a multitude of modifications, amongst which is full De-Cat Turbo-Back Cobra Sport performance exhaust system, which helps it achieve its ludicrous power figure.

]]>The July 2019 edition of Performance BMW featured Cobra Sport's Quad Exit Rear Exhaust for the BMW 435d in its 'New Products' section.
The BMW 435D performance exhaust is made in 3"/76.2mm pipework and fits from the centre section backwards replacing the standard rear section with quad exit tailpipes.
This cosmetic performance exhaust upgrade is focused on improving the styling of the 435D. The exhaust has been designed to offer a subtle improvement in sound but stay at very similar sound levels to the original exhaust.
The 435d Coupe and Gran Coupe are both exceptional powerful machines but, for whatever reason, the F3x generation of cars has to make do with just a pair of twin pipes where the E9x 35d family got dual pipes like the 35i models. As a result, the rear end lacks drama but Cobra Sport is here to make that right with its new M4-inspired quad-exit conversion.
Manufactured from high-quality T304 stainless steel, this cosmetic centre and rear exhaust upgrade features 3"/76.2mm mandrel-bent pipework with aggressive slash-cut quad tailpipes or 440i-style 3" dual-exit tailpipes. Designed as a direct replacement for the OEM system, it fits both Coupe and Gran Coupe M Sport models, once the mandatory aftermarket rear valance has been fitted.
