The 3.2 Quattro has proven to be a popular choice for owners looking for strong performance and the enviable V6 sound.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCobra Sport were keen to make the most of the beautiful tone produced by the 3.2 engine. The decision was made to manufacture the system with 3\" mandrel bent T304 stainless steel pipework to allow for maximum gas flow and to deepen the exhaust tone. The completed systems produce a beautiful pitch perfect tone you would expect from the 3.2 engine. During the 4,000 rpm static test the resonated cat back system increased by 8db to register 88.1db on the sound meter. The Cobra Sport systems also offer an impressive 32% weight saving over the standard system weighing in at only 10.94kg.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe new Audi A3 system benefits from all of the usual Cobra Sport refinements with mandrel bent, TIG welded, grade 304 stainless steel used throughout the systems as standard. The system has been created in a similar design to our Venom exhaust range which removes the rear silencer but keeps the central resonated section to remove the resonation sound produced by the engine to keep cabin unwanted noise to a minimum.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis system, designed for the single exit 5 door A3 2.0 TDI engines produces a slightly deeper than standard tone on idle and when under load the exhaust tone becomes more pronounced with a surge in urgency. At idle the system recorded a level of 66.7dB which then increased to 82.3dB on the static 3,000rpm sound test.
