The VW Golf GTI Mk8 builds on the success of its predecessor, the Mk7 GTI. VW have gone to great lengths to make sure that the new version of their iconic hot hatch is improved over the old version in every conceivable way. VW have ensured this car outperforms its predecessor on road and track by including a locking differential and an all-new Vehicle Dynamics Manager.

The all new GTI retains the successful EA888 2.0 TSI engine from its predecessor, but this time the power is dialled up to 242 BHP. The 2.0 TSI engine is still a tuner's dream, however the introduction of a GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) in the vehicle's exhaust system really limits the aural potential of the power plant.

Cobra Sport have enjoyed enormous success with the VW marque in recent years, with their performance exhausts for previous Golf GTI & R’s being amongst the best-selling systems in the market. Aiming to replicate this success, Cobra Sport are proud to announce their latest product range for the VW Golf GTI Mk8.

Over the past month, their R&D team have been hard at work developing an extensive range of performance exhaust systems that will cater to the needs of any Golf GTI enthusiast.

The new Cobra exhaust range will be available in GPF Back configuration initially with de-cat/sports cat downpipe and GPF delete parts available later this year.

Cobra Sport opted for large 3" 76.2mm stainless steel pipework for the biggest upgrade in terms of performance, flow rate and sound levels. The free flowing Cobra Sport exhaust setup will open up the future tuning possibilities of the Mk8 Golf GTI.

The GPF Back performance exhaust systems can be fitted without the need for any engine tuning as it keeps the stock catalyst and GPF in place (MOT compliant).

Available in the range is Cobra Sport's Rear Box Delete configuration designed for those who are looking to significantly enhance sound levels whilst adding a the deep sporty exhaust tone demanded by enthusiast. The rear box exhaust delete system keeps the car road legal, retaining the GPF filter, the sound testing revealed a +6.2dB increase on the 4,00rpm track test and a weight saving of 5.1kg.
