Autosport International Show 2016 - AmDTuning.com & Cobra Sport unveil new 2016 BTCC car

Cobra Sport once again enjoyed a strong presence at the 2016 Performance Car Show with an incredibly popular stand in hall 19. The Autosport International Show covers over 1 million sq ft and attracts over 80,000 visitors each year making it the number one show for motorsport in the UK.

At the show we unveiled the new livery for the 2016 AmDTuning.com / Cobra Sport Audi S3 BTCC car on the Cobra Sport Exhaust stand. The 2016 livery pays homage to one of motorsport's most iconic colour schemes and features the AmDTuning.com and Cobra Sport red and black branding combined with Audi's famous racing stripes from the '80s IMSA Audi 90 GTO'.

The car which will compete in the 2016 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship was on display on the Cobra Sport Exhausts stand for the whole of the Autosport International Show. Having fielded the Audi S3 during five events in 2015 (driven by Nicolas Hamilton), the team will embark on its first full season with the car this year.

The car has been away to be stripped back to basics, rebuilt and remodelled ready to compete in the 2016 BTCC championship. Hopes are high for a successful campaign, building on the early promise shown by the front-wheel drive machine. To celebrate a full time switch to the Audi after two seasons running the Cobra Sport Exhausts sponsored Ford Focus ST, the team have taken inspiration from one of the German manufacturer's most famous liveries... “We're pleased to take the covers off the new look Audi and think the end result will stand out on track during the season ahead." AmD team boss Shaun Hollamby said. “We were keen to go back to our traditional colours this year and we saw the ideal opportunity to incorporate elements of the IMSA Audi livery to celebrate our first full season with the S3. Audi has a huge amount of history and heritage in motorsport and whilst we are an independent team, we are proud to celebrate part of that heritage in the livery we have chosen. The famous Audi stripes go well with our own red and black, and also with the colours of Cobra Sport Exhausts who we are delighted to have on board again this season."

The 2016 Autosport International Show also saw the launch of the brand new Cobra Sport clothing range as worn at the show by our model. The new clothing range includes Cobra Sport branded hoodies, zipped hoodies and soft shell jackets along with a choice of polo shirts and t-shirts. The clothing is currently available online and will shortly be stocked at Cobra Sport HQ in Sheffield. The two trade days proved to be very productive catching up with existing contacts and adding to our network of dealers generating an ever increasing interest in the Cobra Sport brand and the direction we are moving as a company. Over the 2 weekend public days our stand was incredibly busy, both for photographs of the Audi S3 BTCC car but also with enquiries about our extensive range of direct fit Performance Exhaust applications.
