In the April edition of Fast Ford Magazine we announced a new motorsport technical partnership with Motorbase Performance equipping the three Ford Focus RS BTCC cars with fully TIG welded bespoke performance exhausts.
Two Shredded Wheat-liveried Ford Focus RS' driven by Ollie Jackson and Tom Chilton along with a ROKiT sponsored Focus RS driven by Nicolas Hamilton will compete in ten rounds of this hotly contested Championship.
Developed at our Sheffield-based technical facility, the brief was to produce a full system that would maximise performance of the Focus RS, while withstanding the rigours of a season of intense BTCC competition.
The end result is a triumph of automotive engineering and is manufactured from ultra-resilient T304 stainless steel, the 3-inch mandrel-bent system has been precision TIG-welded to optimise gas flow and maximise strength. The same quality design and manufacturing techniques are used on all Cobra Sport Exhausts whether these be designed for road going performance cars or for motorsport use.
Oly Collins Motorbase Performance Team Manager said: "We're really pleased to announce our new technical partnership with Cobra Sport Exhausts. At Motorbase we're very keen on loyal relationships with great technical partners. We have seen what Cobra Sport have been up to elsewhere in Motorsport and it's a great time to join forces with them and start working together."
