The June 2019 Edition of Performance BMW features a write up, in its 'Products' section, of Cobra Sport's Valved Cat-Back performance exhaust system for the BMW M2 F87 Coupe.
The Bavarian tuning enthusiast's magazine loved the system's ability to enhance the tone of the straight-six engine whilst at the same time eliminating any unwanted drone that can often be generated when swapping to an aftermarket exhaust.
"Cobra Sport has developed a brand new exhaust system which not only opens the door to significant performance gains (once the ECU has been remapped), but also releases the full vocal force of the M2's slightly muted straight-six.
Cobra Sport's engineers spent many hours perfecting the valved M2 system, so that it produces an aggressive soundtrack, with a crackle on the overrun, but without any unwanted drone, the holy grail of any performance exhaust. Manufactured from high-grade T304 stainless steel, the free-flowing 3" (76.2mm), mandrel-bent system is available as a valved cat-back unit, with dual twin-exit tailpipes, or as a full system with either a sports cat or de-cat front pipe. Two highly polished tailpipe designs are available, as well as a new carbon fibre upgrade option, and every Cobra Sport system is TIG-welded to ensure a flawless, high-quality finish. With over 25 years in the performance exhaust industry, each Cobra Sport exhaust system is designed, manufactured and tested in Sheffield, the heart of the UK steel industry."
