Cobra Sport Unleashes New Exhaust Systems for the Lotus Emira

The Lotus Emira arrived on the scene with high expectations and the pressure of living up to a legendary lineage. Fortunately, this modern sports car does not disappoint. Stylish and aggressive, the Emira is a refreshing break from its predecessors, with a design that turns heads and performance to match. The Emira is available with a choice of 2 engines, the Cobra Sport development team have made sure to cater for owners of both models.

While the 2.0L variant delivers on looks, its factory soundtrack leaves something to be desired. That’s where Cobra Sport steps in with a new exhaust development designed to unlock the true voice of the Emira.

The newly developed valved GPF-back performance exhaust system is designed to maintain the premium feel of the car while offering enhanced versatility and an impressive new soundtrack. With the valve open, the exhaust bypasses the silencer, releasing a raw and exhilarating tone. In contrast, when the valve is closed, gasses are routed through the silencer for a comfortable, neighbourhood friendly drive.

When tested in ‘Tour’ mode, the sound gains a subtle depth over stock while remaining refined and practical for daily driving. Switching to ‘Track’ mode, and the Emira finds its voice with a deeper, sharper, and more aggressive tone especially under acceleration. The change is significant, offering a thrilling experience without crossing the line into excessive noise.

For the 2.0L model, we offer a 'Performance' option with rear silencer along with a louder non-resonated 'Venom' option.

The exhaust system integrates seamlessly with the car’s factory tailpipes, retaining the sharp OEM aesthetic that Lotus got spot on.

This exhaust upgrade isn’t limited to just the 2.0L model, Cobra Sport's development team have ensured the system is also available for the 3.5L V6, perfect for owners looking to give their Emira an even more distinctive sound. With the 2.0L engine, the results are impressive. For those with the V6 version, the sound upgrade becomes even more dramatic.

The Cobra Sport GPF-back exhaust system for the Lotus Emira is a must-have for enthusiasts looking to elevate both the sound and feel of their driving experience.

Technical Notes:

This Lotus Emira GPF back performance exhaust is made in a combination of 2.5" (64mm) and 3.0" (76mm) pipework and fits from the Gasoline Particulate Filter backwards (GPF-back) replacing the whole rear section.

Utilising the factory bumper mounted tailpipes, this exhaust offers improvement in terms of exhaust tone, bass and sound level whilst keeping the stock catalyst and GPF in place. This exhaust system has been designed to maximise the functionality of the exhaust valve, whilst also being aesthetically pleasing.

During installation the ignition must be off and the valve motor must remain connected to the wiring harness.
