When Mercedes launched the third generation A-Class, they wanted to appeal to a wider audience by launching a compact saloon model, the result was the A-Class Saloon, which goes head to head with Audi’s A3 Saloon and BMW's 2 Series Gran Coupe.
Topping the line up is the AMG A 35 Saloon, which features 4Matic all-wheel drive and Mercedes' excellent M260 2.0 litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which has been breathed on by AMG and modified to produce 306bhp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The result is 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 MPH. These performance stats put the AMG A 35 Saloon directly inline with Audi's S3 Saloon and BMW's M235i Gran Coupe.
The A 35 Saloon has seemingly limitless tuning potential. Cobra Sport have enjoyed enormous success with their recent A 35 hatchback and A45 S performance exhausts. Aiming to replicate this success with the A 35 Saloon, Cobra Sport are proud to announce their latest product range for the Baby AMG.
As with all of the latest performance vehicles, the sound of the car from the factory has been severely limited offering a lacklustre and uninspiring exhaust sound. Cobra Sport's research and development team have been hard at work developing a range of performance exhaust systems that will rectify this and will cater to the needs of any AMG enthusiast.
Cobra Sport have been able to truly open up the character of the A 35 Saloon optimising the exhaust tone and adding the missing drama and emotional connection to the A 35 Saloon driving experience.
Like all Cobra Sport exhausts, the A 35 Saloon performance exhausts are TIG-welded from high-quality T304 stainless steel and the mandrel-bent pipework is a full 3in (76.2mm) in diameter for the biggest upgrade in terms of performance, flow rate and sound levels. The free flowing Cobra Sport exhaust setup will open up the future tuning possibilities of the A 35 Saloon.
The Mercedes-AMG A 35 Saloon performance exhaust configuration options are as follows:
- Cat Back - Pipework attaching the catalytic converter and continuing to the rear of the vehicle. (factory catalytic converter retained but deleting the GPF - ECU remap required / off road use only).
- GPF Delete - Pipework to remove the GPF filter only – (ECU remap required / off road use only).
- Rear Performance Exhaust (GPF Back) – Pipework attaching to the centre of the vehicle and continuing to replace the rear section retaining the GPF filter.
- Race Rear Performance Exhaust (GPF Back with Back Box Delete) - Designed without a rear box, resulting in the ultimate improvement in terms of exhaust tone and sound level whilst keeping the stock catalyst and GPF in place.
With over 25 years in the performance exhaust industry, each Cobra Sport exhaust system is designed, manufactured and tested in Sheffield, the heart of the UK steel industry. Cobra Sport utilise TIG-welding techniques to ensure a flawless finish and quality that you can rely on.
