Available Now - Cobra Sport redefine the spectacular BMW M140i

Following on from the success of the Cobra Sport Exhaust systems for the M135i & M235i, the latest sporty hot hatch from BMW has just completed development at our HQ in Sheffield. 

Designed and manufactured to uncompromising standard, Cobra Sport has matched performance improvements with re-defined sound to offer an exciting exhaust upgrade offering for M140i owners.

The M140i has quickly gained the reputation for offering an especially good driving experience thanks to stunning 3.0 litre 335bhp engine matched with the beautifully balanced BMW rear wheel drive system.

The BMW M140i boasts the same torque figure as the M2 registering 369 lb-ft making the M140i sprint incredibly quickly to 60mph making up 0.3 sec on the previous model.

The new Cobra Sport Exhaust systems have been designed to add a subtle sporty tone lower down in the rev range to enable to car to be continued to be used as a long distance cruiser. When under full load, the Cobra Sport exhaust system comes to life providing a stunning soundtrack worthy of the M-Sport badge. 

The Cobra Sport research and development team quickly made the decision to base the new performance exhaust systems for the BMW M140i on 3" (76.2mm) T304 stainless steel pipework.

This mandrel bent pipework allows the engine to breathe and contributes to the aim for the largest natural performance improvements. The new cat back exhausts offer a significant weight advantage with the Cobra Sport system weighing only 16.32kg giving a 21% decrease from the OEM weight of 20.75kg.

The sound of the new Cobra Sport exhausts boast vastly improved tonal characteristics with the non resonated cat back exhaust offering a deeper more aggressive sound with an overall increase of +4.6dB to 86.8dB on the static 4,000rpm sound test.

Within the cabin the redefined sound remains comfortable registering 81.6dB under full load. The new performance exhaust systems for the M140i are based around a cat back configuration with the option for either a resonated or louder non resonated centre section. These cat back systems can be matched with a choice of replacement front pipe options in the form of either a sports cat or a de-cat downpipe pipe to create the most dynamic sound track.

Cobra Sport have improved the subtle styling of the BMW M140i, creating a more aggressive and balanced look to the rear of the car with dual 3.5" (88.9mm) inward rolled baffled highly polished stainless steel tailpipes which have been designed to complement the M140i lower rear panel.
