BMW M235i F22 Cobra Sport Exhaust System

Building on the success of previously released systems for the M135i, Cobra Sport are pleased to announce the launch of their exhaust systems for the BMW M235i (F22).

Designed and manufactured to uncompromising standard, Cobra Sport have matched performance improvements with re-defined sound to offer an exciting package for M235i owners.

The M235i features a 321bhp turbocharged straight-six engine generating a stunning 332lb-ft of torque. During the development phase we were keen to improve the overall exhaust tone creating a pitch perfect soundtrack.

The Cobra Sport research and development team quickly made the decision to create the new performance exhaust systems for the BMW M235i with 3" (76.2mm) T304 stainless steel pipework.

Through straightening and careful alignment of the pipework, Cobra Sport have created a system in true 3" diameter pipework with mandrel bends and no indentations as are found in the OE system. Independent power testing of the non resonated cat back system revealed impressive gains of +10bhp along with +16 lb-ft gain in torque.

The outstanding power results are complemented by a significant weight advantage with the Cobra Sport system weighing only 16.32kg giving a 20% decrease from the OE system weight of 20.38kg.

Cobra Sport Sales Manager Matt Thomas commented "We're very excited about the release of the system for the M235i having experienced high demand and very positive feedback for our M135i cat back systems and de-cat front pipes. The 3.0 litre engine has a fantastic reputation and the natural power gains found with the cat back system are testament to the hard work and expertise of our research and development team".

The systems for the M235i are have been developed in cat back configuration with the option for either a resonated or louder non resonated centre section.

These cat back systems can be matched with a choice of replacement front pipes in the form of either a sports cat or a large bore de-cat pipe to create the most dynamic sound track and performance increases. Matched with the de-cat option, the non resonated cat back system recorded a +20dB increase over standard at 96.2dB during the 4,000rpm static test.

In car sound levels are kept to an increase of +8dB recording a maximum of 80dB under full load, matched with clever design and extensive testing the Cobra Sport team have managed to eliminate any chance of resonation within the cabin. Cobra Sport have improved the styling over the standard exhaust by finishing off the rear of the M235i with a more aggressive and balanced look. The systems feature dual 3.5" (88.9mm) inward rolled baffled highly polished stainless steel tailpipes, specifically designed for the M235i.
