Ford Focus ST 2.0 TDCi 185PS Performance Exhaust

Building on the success of the popular Focus ST 250, Ford have recently released the Focus ST 2.0 TDCi. The first ever diesel powered Focus ST aims to provide a unique mix between everyday usability and performance making the Focus TDCi an excellent option for those looking for a sophisticated blend of driving dynamics, performance and refinement.

The 185PS 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine achieves a 0-62mph time of 8.1 seconds, a combined 67.3 mpg and a CO2 emissions figure of just 110g/km. Cobra Sport were keen to get the new Focus ST TDCi in for development and have built and exhaust system which improves the styling, reduces the overall weight and offers an improved sound to the usually mild diesel engine.

The final development is available as a rear box replacement, which enhanced the TDCI engine sound by only 2 dB at three quarter revs, but allowed a much deeper overall tone. The decision was made to build the system with 3 (76.2mm) stainless steel pipework and has been designed to fit from the centre section backwards completely replacing the rear section. The Venom style pipework is manufactured in aircraft grade 304 stainless steel matched with precision TIG welds and mandrel formed bends to enable the smoothest possible flow of gas. As expected, there was an exceptional weight advantage, with the Cobra Sport exhaust being a massive 54% lighter than the original equipment exhaust.

The completed rear exhaust system is finished with a choice of ST style tailpipes including our popular custom designed hexagonal tailpipes in either highly polished 304 stainless steel or our new Blackout ceramic coated tips which have a smart matt black appearance. The Venom style pipework has enabled us to make the most of the powerful diesel engine and improve the overall sound of the ST TDCi without interfering with your comfort whilst driving. The tone of the completed exhaust gives a sportier edge to the Diesel Focus, whilst keeping interior noise in check.
